Inquest training for healthcare professionals

Learn how to give evidence confidently at an inquest

Inquests are an important part of investigations into unexpected deaths. Healthcare professionals can feel apprehensive or daunted by the inquest process, particularly if called to give evidence in a hearing. Much of this apprehension comes from a lack of knowledge and familiarity with the aims and processes of an inquest and of the other professionals involved.

Our Inquest training is designed to ensure healthcare professionals have the essential skills, tools, and knowledge to give evidence confidently and compassionately. The training provides a 360 overview and guidance from a range of very experienced legal and medical professionals who are regularly involved in inquests. Their insights and advice will demystify the process and increase your confidence if you’re called to give evidence.

The training covers the inquest process from start to finish and provides practical advice and guidance on reporting deaths and certification, drafting a statement with a statement writing exercise and giving oral evidence with the opportunity to draft a witness statement and give evidence in our Mock Inquest Court.
