Pip White is a practising physiotherapist and health-law graduate, and a current Fellow of the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE). She has over 25 years’ physiotherapy experience covering NHS, private practice, military and elite sports settings.
She is Cardiff University accredited expert witness and an Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) Tier 1 expert. She is the managing director of Clifford White Medicolegal Ltd. Pip has many years’ experience providing expert written opinion for clinical negligence cases cross the UK and Ireland on the instruction of both claimants and defendants. Her opinion has also been sought by the HCPC as part of its Fitness to Practise Investigations.
Pip accepts instructions for clinical negligence cases involving physiotherapists for initial screening advice, and for full breach of duty, liability and/or causation reports in the following physiotherapy areas for adult (18+) patients: General and advanced-practice musculoskeletal physiotherapy; ward based in-patient orthopaedic physiotherapy including joint replacement; spinal disorders including cauda equina; extended scope practice (ESP) and clinical triage services.
Pip is also a UK professional adviser for physiotherapy with specific expertise in medicines use and prescribing and issues relating to consent to treatment in physiotherapy practice.
Pip is a full practising member of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She is a member of the Medico-legal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MLACP).
Her reports are timely, balanced, clear and concise. Reports are compliant with Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules, the accompanying Practice Direction and the Guidance for the instruction of experts in civil claims. Pip complies with the 2019 Academy of Royal Colleges Guidance “Acting as an expert witness: Guidance for Healthcare Professionals”
