Mark Duxbury

Consultant General Surgeon

Mark Duxbury received his medical degree from Oxford Medical School. He undertook a full-time research fellowship at Harvard Medical School, investigating novel therapies for pancreatic cancer.Following Higher Surgical Training on the Eastern Deanery (Cambridge) rotation he completed further subspeciality training in hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) and transplantation surgery in Edinburgh.

Mark Duxbury is an NHS Consultant Surgeon based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. He has full UK General Medical Council registration and UK Specialist Register accreditation.

He leads a cancer research group working on pancreatic cancer and liver metastasis. He is actively involved in translational research into personalised cancer treatment. He has published widely in peer reviewed journals and has authored a number of book chapters relating to General Surgery, cancer biology and diseases of the pancreas, liver and biliary tree. He serves on the Editorial Boards of a number of scientific journals.
