Fiona Sterritt

Partner, HHD Solicitors

Fiona Sterritt studied law at the University of Ulster and qualified as a solicitor from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies at Queen’s University, Belfast. She specialised in clinical negligence and is a Partner at HHD Solicitors in Belfast.

Fiona has extensive expertise in cases involving catastrophic birth injury, cosmetic surgery, dental negligence, orthopaedics, delays in or mis-diagnosis of cancer, and surgical claims. She worked on the 2014 case of KD, a minor with cerebral palsy, which resulted in the largest ever settlement in a medical negligence case in Northern Ireland.

At present Fiona is involved in the vaginal mesh litigation, and also represents patients who have previously been treated by Dr Michael Watt (Neurologist).

She is a member of the Law Society of Northern Ireland and of AvMA. Fiona provides guest lectures at the Ulster University Medical Law and Ethics Course at the Ulster University, where HHD sponsor the annual Medical Law and Ethics Prize at the School of Law.
