Dr Amjid Mohammed

Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Sports Medicine

I am a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Head of Service in the Emergency Department at Doncaster Hospitals (Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Bassetlaw Hospital and Montagu Hospital), and have been in this post since 1st October 2015. I have previously been a consultant at Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Trust from 2002.

I also practice at Wellfield House in Huddersfield in the SEM-Doc sports clinic. I have previously established a sports injury clinic at the Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Trust. I am registered with the British Boxing Board of Control as a Doctor providing ringside services. In the past I have held the position of Chief Medical officer to UK Deaf Sport, and of medical advisor to Special Olympics GB. I volunteered at LONDON 2012 as a Sports Doctor for the football tournament at Old Trafford.

I have worked internationally in various settings in the context of disaster medicine. I am Medical Director at ERS Medical and First Care Ambulance, providers of frontline ambulance and transport services to commissioning services and NHS Trusts. In these organisations I am responsible for quality and safety and governance. I am lead on Infection control and safeguarding. I am also responsible for medicines management for both organisations.

I have acquired an huge amount of experience in dealing with the problems form minor injuries in the ED in the developed world to the care of patients in major international disasters following earthquakes.

I have written many reports for personal injury cases as well as reports for medical negligence claims

I accept instructions for medical negligence cases in Emergency Medicine including claims against ambulance services and Sports Medicine.
