Mairead graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 2002. She has almost twenty years of experience in general practice, working as a Partner, salaried GP and sessional GP. She has a wealth of knowledge and exposure to different systems and approaches by individual GPs and primary care teams.
Mairead holds Diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Mental Health and a Certificate in Palliative Care. She is a Macmillan GP Facilitator for Devon, a strategic and educational role promoting early diagnosis of cancer through to end of life care.
She is an educator, with experience delivering a professionalism module for medical students at Plymouth University. She has an interest in research, studying a fellowship into health inequalities.
Mairead is a director of General Medico Legal Services. She has formal medico legal training via Inspire Medilaw in association with Strathclyde University. All aspects of medico legal work are undertaken from claimant and defendant solicitors.
