Jonathan has been a GP expert witness since 2003. He spent 20 years working as a GP partner in Chipping Norton. Jonathan’s main clinical interests are palliative care, ENT and audiology, mental health and substance misuse. He was also the lead GP in dispensing nationally and active in GP commissioning.
Jonathan runs a well-established expert witness practice, providing expert opinion for all the defence organisations and the NHS Litigation Authority. He also has a busy claimant workload for selected solicitor firms.
With a long-standing interest in medico-legal education, Jonathan was an inaugural member of the Medical Protection Society Educational Faculty. He has given lectures and workshops for medics across the UK.
Jonathan was involved in setting up the Oxford Medico-Legal Society and he remains on the committee. He is still actively involved in clinical work, including GP practice, access hubs, community hospitals and ‘out of hours’.
Jonathan is a Fellow of the Royal College of GPs and of the Royal Society of Arts.
