I have been a Consultant for 10 years and has run the Elderly Care Service in Brighton for 6 years. My main interest is in Acute Elderly Care, trying to improve the efficiency in the way we deal with older people in the hospital. I have always been keen to intervene early, make a diagnosis and a management plan so that older people do not have an unnecessary long stay.

I have been instrumental in improving Orthogeriatric services in Brighton, particularly for those patients with hip fractures. I have tried to do the same with those having elective operations under both the Orthopaedic and General surgeons.

I am interested in frailty and the oldest old. I have an excellent knowledge of Pharmacology in the elderly, as this is often the cause of problems in this group of patients.
