I am an established consultant with over 20 years of experience as an Old Age Psychiatrist. I have a track record of developing and establishing mental health services in my field of work, having held the role of clinical director to local services in Leicester for many years.
I have significant service research interests and publications in my field. Nationally, I chaired the Quality network for Older Adults Mental Health services that in 2016 produced National Quality Standards for Older Peoples Inpatient Care; all current national older peoples inpatient units in the national network receive their accreditation against these standards. I have medico legal interests, training and qualifications; regularly providing special and expert witness evidence in civil and criminal cases.
I am a (one of only 80 or so nationally) Special Visitor to the Office of Public Guardian and the Court of Protection providing assessments and reports to the Court.โ I am an elected member of the Old Age Faculty of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and hold an Honorary Senior Lecturer position with the University of Leicester.
