Programme

This training is aimed at PI/CN medical experts with in interest in understanding jurisdictional differences and/or report writing.  It is possible to book a half day place (including lunch & networking) if preferred.

The one day course, delivered by Inspire MediLaw’s experienced training faculty, covers the key differences in caselaw, practice and procedure specific to PI/CN cases in England & Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland and Australia.

Delegates are welcome to submit an anonymised report (providing the case is not live) or one based on a fictional case study for a member of our training faculty to review and annotate.  See below for more details.

To further support the development of your practice, the afternoon sessions will include in-depth report writing.  The reporting on Consent; Causation; Liability; and Condition & Prognosis workshops will run twice to ensure delegates can avail of those most relevant to their practice.  Please indicate your workshop preferences when booking.

Reports for feedback must be received by Inspire MediLaw on or by 2 March and will be returned on the day.  We cannot facilitate one-to-one feedback sessions within the timetable, but your report can be used in the group session for peer input and our trainers will be at the conference on the day for an informal chat.

By Car
From the North, leave the M40 at junction 9, taking the A34 heading south, towards Oxford. Leave the A34 at the 6 th exit, called Hinksey Hill Interchange (London M40) and follow towards the City Centre. At the next roundabout take the first exit still following for the City Centre, onto the Abingdon Road. The Hotel can be found approximately 1 mile on the right. From the South, leave the M4 at junction 13, taking the A34 north towards Oxford, leave at exit signposted for A4144, following for the City Centre. At top of slip road – 3 rd exit off roundabout – at the next roundabout take the first exit, still following for the City Centre – A4144 / Abingdon Road. The Hotel can be found approximately 1 mile on the right.

From Heathrow
Leave taking the M4 and following signs for the M25. At junction 4b leave the M4 taking the M25, (signposted M40, M1, A1, North & Oxford). Leave the M25 at junction J16, taking the M40 for Oxford. Leave the M40 at junction 8 taking the A40 towards Oxford. At Headington roundabout turn left toward Cowley (A4142) pass BMW works, over flyover straight over next roundabout with lights, at Sainsburys roundabout, straight over (A423), next roundabout turn right towards Oxford City Centre, onto the Abingdon Road. The Hotel is approximately 1 mile on the right.

From London
Leave the M40 at junction 8 taking the A40 towards Oxford. At Headington roundabout turn left towards Cowley (A4142) pass BMW works, over flyover straight over next roundabout with lights, at Sainsburys roundabout, straight over (A423), next roundabout turn right towards Oxford City Centre, onto the Abingdon Road. The Hotel is approximately 1 mile on the right.

By Train
